Concrete Slab Crushes a Truck Driver in Livingston County
There was a tragic accident at a construction job when a concrete slab crushes a truck driver in Livingston County yesterday. Richard Browand, a 61-year-old truck driver, was working in Howell Township, near Grand River and Byron Roads, when the concrete slab, intended for use in a sound barrier, fell off his tractor trailer. He was rushed to St. Joseph Livingston Hospital where he was declared dead. Police are still investigating the cause of this accident.
I am very sorry to hear about this tragic accident and wish my most heart-felt condolences to the family of Richard Borwand for their loss.
Our Michigan truck accident lawyers advise accident victims of their legal rights. For this type of accident in Michigan, the family of Richard Browand may have a claim for a Michigan wrongful death lawsuit against the people involved in the accident including, but not limited to, the owners of the truck, the owners of the crane used to move the slab and the companies that owned the truck and/or crane. At the very least, the surviving family should hire the best possible lawyer to look into these possibilities.
An experienced Michigan truck accident lawyer can assist the victim with this type of claim. Accident victims should not speak with an insurance adjuster before consulting with an attorney.
