Passenger Killed and Driver Injured In Michigan Pickup Truck Accident

Erik Parks was killed and Andrew Roberts was injured in a Jerusalem Township pickup truck accident that occurred on State Rt. 2. According to police, the truck was driving westbound along Route 2, east of milepost 33, on what is locally known as Bono Curve, when the truck went off the road and struck a guardrail. Parks was the front seat passenger in the vehicle. Roberts, the driver of the pickup truck, suffers injuries and was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

I am very sorry to hear about the accident. My condolences go out to the family of the deceased victim and I hope the injured victim has a fast recovery without any permanent damages.

Our Michigan truck accident attorneys advise victims of their legal rights. If a truck accident such as this occurred in Michigan, the family of the deceased victim may be able to make a claim for Survivor Loss Benefits. This can include payment of funeral expenses and loss of other services.

Also, the family members of the deceased may have a claim for a Michigan wrongful death lawsuit against the driver if police determine they were negligent and caused the accident.

The injured driver may be able to submit a claim for Michigan no-fault insurance benefits. No-Fault benefits will cover their medical expenses, lost wages, attendant care, replacement services, and other benefits related to injuries suffered in the accident. The injured person can claim these benefits even if they did not have a Michigan automobile insurance policy and even if they are determined to be at fault.
